    43. The fields at Level 3 and 4 - The fields at Level 3 and 4

Your fields need cultivating in quite the same way as at Level 2. You start out at Level 3 with 3 fields: the 2 fields you had at the previous level + 1 you're given for free - provided you hadn't bought any at Level 2.
But if you had bought the maximum number of fields at Level 2, you're still given an extra one when you get to Level 3, so that you end up with 7 fields!

Of course you can buy more fields. To do that, just go to your "Field" page and click on "Buy a new field".
At Level 4, you won't get any more extra field.

You can have up to 10 fields. When you get to the next level up, the crops you sowed are transferred to your new fields.
If you keep your crops, make sure you have enough space in your silos (or enough silos) or they'll be stored in your granary.
You can also sell your fields at any time.

Note that if you sow your field at 11am for instance, the field icon showing the growing crop (wheat, corn, etc.) will be modified every day at 11am.

    The wheat field
Wheat grows in 8 days if you add chemical fertilizer or manure and in 16 days if you use no fertilizer of any kind. Sowing wheat costs 10 Kekos. If your field is neither hit by poor weather conditions nor infested by weevils, your harvest yields 8 bags that you can sell directly to the cooperative for 5 Kekos each. If you'd rather keep them, the bags will be stored in your granary. Then you can choose to sell them at the market or use them to feed your pig.
Wheat falls prey to weevils. To get rid of these annoying bugs, you need to add some insecticide. The longer your field is infested, the lower the harvest yield will be. If your field is infested, a symbol will appear below the field icon:
    The corn field
Corn grows in 4 days if you add chemical fertilizer or manure and in 8 days if you use no fertilizer of any kind. Sowing corn costs 13 Kekos. If your field is neither hit by poor weather conditions nor infested by corn borers, your harvest yields 8 bags that you can sell directly to the cooperative for 3 Kekos each. If you'd rather keep them, the bags will be stored in your granary. Then you can choose to sell them at the market or use them to feed your pig.
Corn falls prey to corn borers. To get rid of these annoying worms, you need to add some insecticide. The longer your field is infested, the lower the harvest yield will be. If your field is infested, a symbol will appear below the field icon:
    The sunflower field
Sunflower grows in 6 days if you add chemical fertilizer or manure and in 12 days if you use no fertilizer of any kind. Sowing sunflower costs 12 Kekos. If your field is neither hit by poor weather conditions nor attacked by crows, your harvest yields 8 bags that you can sell directly to the cooperative for
4 Kekos each. If you'd rather keep them, the bags will be stored in your granary. Then you can choose to sell them at the market or use them to feed your pig.
Sunflower falls prey to crows. There's only one way to get rid of them: the scarecrow, but note that it can only protect your field from one attack. The longer your field is being attacked, the lower the harvest yield will be. If your field is attacked, a symbol will appear below the field icon:

    How to sow a field
When your fields are ready for sowing, tick the type of crop you want to sow on each field (wheat, sunflower or corn) and click on "Action".
If you wish to add manure or chemical fertilizer (which can only be done on the day of sowing), tick the relevant box below each field and click on "Action".
Thanks to the interface, you can attend to several fields at the same time. You don't have to sow, harvest or add fertilizer field by field.

The bags of seeds you had as bonuses at Level 1 can only be used at Level 1. You can't use them anymore from Level 2 onwards.

The green semicircle at the side of each field shows you added chemical fertilizer or manure.

    How to harvest a field
When your field is ready for harvesting, you have two options: keep your crop or sell it.
You can harvest several fields at the same time. Just make sure you have enough fuel cans in your barn.

    Keeping your crop:
When you choose to keep your crop, it is automatically put into bags and transported to your granary. You can then decide to sell the bags at the market or use them to feed your pig. Each time you harvest a wheat field, you also get 3 straw bales, which can be used to produce manure.

    Selling your crop:
When you choose to sell your crop, it is automatically put into bags and sold to the Funnypigs cooperative.

    The Funnypigs cooperative
    Crop prices:
Wheat: 5 Kekos a bag (6 Kekos a bag for organic wheat).
Corn: 3 Kekos a bag (4 Kekos a bag for organic corn).
Sunflower: 4 Kekos a bag (5 Kekos a bag for organic sunflower).

Once you've ticked all the appropriate boxes, click on "Action".

You get a report on all the work that was carried out on your field:

    The scarecrow
It's used as a red herring. Instead of attacking your field, the crows attack the scarecrow, which gets totally torn apart. That's why it can only be used once.
You can only put it on sunflower fields. If you sow wheat or corn after having harvested sunflower on a field that didn't get attacked, the scarecrow is automatically put back in your barn.

    The organic farming grant scheme
If you choose not to resort to chemical fertilizer (whether you add manure or go fertilizer-free), you get an organic farming grant of 16 Kekos per harvested field.

The interface allows you to do several chores simultaneously: sowing, selling, keeping your crop, spraying insecticide, etc.
