    15. The market - The market

That's where bonuses, food and machinery are bought and sold. It's the heart of Funnypigs.

You can make a purchase at the market every day from 4am to 1am GMT the following day i.e. 21 hours a day.
It basically matches the website opening hours.

Funnypigs' market is only small; sometimes its aisles get packed and you can't even reach the stalls. If that happens, just come back a little later.

The number of purchases a farmer can make per day is unlimited.

How to make a purchase at Funnypigs' market?

Funnypigs' market is divided into two categories: the farmers' market and the official one.
At the official market, the products available on the stalls are sold by the Funnypigs Town Hall. Whereas at the farmers' market, the products available on the stalls are sold directly by the farmers themselves.
You just need to click on the "farmers' market" box or on the "official market" box to go from one market to the other. In each box, there's a pull-down menu from which you can access the various product categories.

At the top of the page, the market index is indicated.

The market price index is calculated once a day after the prices of the previous day and the prices at opening time (4am GMT) have been compared. The index fluctuates according to the prices farmers charge - this does not affect the official products sold by Funnypigs (machines, vitamins, scarecrows, sandbags and rat poison). The index indicates whether there was an increase or a drop in prices at the farmers' market on the previous day. As the official prices follow the general price index, it means that farmers indirectly set the official prices.

    Example:
Yesterday Funnypigs sold a harvester for 100 Kekos. Today the index is at 3%. So today Funnypigs sells a harvester for 103 Kekos.
If tomorrow the index shows a 1%-drop, the sale price of a harvester at the official market will be: 101.97 Kekos (a drop of 1.03 Kekos).

A colour code (red, orange and green) is here to help you gauge the demand for each product and see which ones are the most likely to be available:
    - Products with a red label are usually the cheapest but also those with the highest demand, which means they're hard to get.
    - Products with an orange label, in spite of lower demand, are not that easy to get.
    - Products with a green label are not much in demand. They're usually the most expensive, yet the easiest to get.

Products are listed in the same way on both the farmers' and the official markets: per category and per sale price.

From left to right are displayed the product price, its available quantity, the colour label showing whether the demand is high or not and finally the basket button. If you click on the basket, a drop-down menu will allow you to select the quantity you want to buy.

The basket box recaps all the purchases you've made on both the farmers' and the official markets.

You can add farmers' products to your basket and then go on to the official market and inversely: whatever item you've chosen will remain in your basket until you check out.
You can even go to another page of the site: when you get back to the market page, your products will still be in your basket. The basket box also states the total amount of your purchases and the number of farmers' and/or official products you're buying.

To confirm your order, click on "Buy". The amount will be immediately debited from your account, as at Funnypigs' market, you have to pay in advance. Be careful though, once you've clicked on "Buy", you can't go back and cancel your purchase order. A purchase order needs between 10 and 15 minutes (roughly) to be processed. So you can't use your products straight away.
A pop-up window confirms that your order has been recorded successfully.

To empty the basket of all its contents, click on the red cross opposite the "Your basket" header. To clear only specific products, select them first and then click on the cross: only the items you selected will be cleared from the basket.

Careful: your basket can only hold up to 8 categories of products at any one time. If you want to buy more types of products, you'll have to repeat the process.

You can track the status of your orders on the "Orders" page:

    Status:
    - pending: your order will be processed shortly.
    - processed: you order was dealt with successfully. The quantity shows 0. The product is yours.
    - processing: your order has not entirely been processed yet. You must wait.
    - cancelled: you were pipped at the post by another farmer who bought this product first. You get a refund.

Your purchases are also listed on the "Events" page.

How to sell one or more products on the market?

Level 1: you can sell your products from the barn.
Level 2: you can sell your products from either the barn or the granary.
Level 3, 4 and 5: you can sell your products from either the barn, the granary or the silos.

Before setting the sale price of your bonus, have a look at the average price charged by farmers; the minimum and maximum prices; and the official price: they're all displayed in the sale order table.

Once you've put your bonus on sale, you have to wait a little while before it appears on the market stalls as freight time is about 10 minutes. But sometimes there's a lot of traffic, so it might take longer.

Sales are anonymous. Your screen name is not displayed.
You can monitor your sale orders on the "Orders" page.

All the items put on sale can be removed from the market at any time. But again, you'll need to wait a few minutes before they're effectively withdrawn from the market.

Each product is put on sale for a 48-hour period, after which the sale expires and the product is no longer visible on the stalls. On the "Orders" page, the product is then labelled "Expired".
In order to put a bonus on sale a second time, withdraw it from the market before starting the selling process over.

Your sales are also listed in the "Events" page.

Rats, weevils, crows, stress bombs, corn borers and health & safety inspections cannot be sold at the market.
