    28. The Town Caretaker - the hibernation expert - The Town Caretaker - the hibernation expert

You can access this service by clicking on the Town Caretaker's head at the top of the page.
    It is free.

If you're away for a few days, the Town Caretaker can put your pig, your barn, the bonuses you put on sale at the market, your fields... into hibernation for the duration of your holidays. Your pig stops putting on weight, your slurry is no longer collected, your crops stop growing and your bonuses are withdrawn from the market. Your barn is boarded up and no one can attack you. You are temporarily removed from the farmer ranking.
You can't access your account: the program shows you're in hibernation mode.

The maximum contract duration is 70 consecutive days. The contract must be drawn up at least 24 hours before the start date.

After the hibernation period, your farm and its contents are returned to you exactly as you left them. Except for one thing: your pig's date of birth. This necessary measure is taken to make sure your pig is the same weight and the same age as when you left. The hibernation mode means that everything stays the way it was!

IMPORTANT: make sure you feed your pig before you leave or when you come back it will start losing weight.

    Beware of taxes:
Your going into hibernation doesn't deter Funnypigs' Inland Revenue from visiting your farm. You still have to pay the tax due during your holidays - but this is limited to one tax period only (to make sure players who have to go away for a long period of time are not too penalized).
You don't get tax alerts on your "Building" page though, so you must go to your "Events" page and pay your taxes by clicking on the link from there.

    Cancelling a contract:
If you wish to cancel a contract before the start date, you need to go to the "Town Caretaker" page and click on "Cancel".
You cannot enter your farm while the contract is underway i.e. from the start date to the end date. You therefore cannot cancel a contract that is underway.
