LEVEL 1

  1. How to care for your pig
  2. Funnypigs V2
  3. The field at Level 1

    11. The field at Level 1 - The field at Level 1

At Level 1, you have one field. You can neither buy a second field nor sell your existing one.
Your field generates quite a lot of money. It's not to be sneezed at.

The crop growth lasts between 8 and 16 days starting on the day and at the time of sowing: for instance, if you sow your field at 11am, the field icon showing the growing crop will be modified every day at 11am.

    Wheat field
Wheat grows in 8 days if you add chemical fertilizer or manure and in 16 days if you use no fertilizer of any kind. Sowing costs 10 Kekos. If your field is neither hit by poor weather conditions nor infested by weevils, your harvest yields 8 bags that you can sell directly to the cooperative for 5 Kekos each.
Wheat falls prey to weevils. To get rid of these annoying bugs, you need to add some insecticide. The longer your field is infested, the lower the harvest yield will be. If your field is infested, a symbol will appear below the field icon:

    How to sow a field:
When your field is ready for sowing, tick the "Wheat" box.
If you wish to add manure or a chemical fertilizer (which can only be done on the day of sowing), tick the relevant box. Note that the manure option is only available if you have some.

If you have a bag of seeds in your barn, it will automatically be used. If you don't have any, you'll have to pay 10 Kekos.

The green semicircle at the side of the field shows you added chemical fertilizer or manure.

    How to harvest a field:

    There are two options:
    1. When your field is ready for harvesting, tick the "Sell" box and click on ACTION.
Your crop is automatically sold to the Funnypigs cooperative and your account credited. Each time you harvest your wheat field, you get three bales of straw. They're very useful to produce manure. You can also sell them at Funnypigs' market.

    2. When your field is ready for harvesting, tick both the "Sell" and the "Bonus Game" boxes and click on ACTION.
A new page opens where you'll have the opportunity to harvest your field yourself. If you're lucky, this "Bonus Game" option will allow you to harvest more crop and therefore to earn more Kekos.
Don't worry though: if you score is low, you can start the game over as many times as you like or even revert to Option 1.
Once you've confirmed your score (by clicking on CONFIRM), your crop is automatically sold to the Funnypigs cooperative and your account credited. Each time you harvest your wheat field, you get three bales of straw. They're very useful to produce manure. You can also sell them at Funnypigs' market.
(To play the "Bonus Game", you'll need to have the FLASH plugin, which you can download for free on this website: Macromedia).

Pay attention to the weather conditions before you start harvesting. For instance, if it rains, your harvest yield will be lower: please see our blurb on the weather conditions and the weather forecast.

    The Funnypigs cooperative:
Your crop is bought by the Funnypigs cooperative. The purchase price varies according to the quality of your wheat (whether it was infested by weevils or not) and the weather conditions. The maximum possible price is 40 Kekos if you use fertilizer and 48 Kekos if you don't use any (exclusive of the organic farming grant).

Once you've ticked all the appropriate boxes, click on ACTION.
You'll get a report on all the work that was carried out on your field:

    The organic farming grant scheme:
If you choose not to resort to chemical fertilizers (whether you add manure or go fertilizer-free), you'll get an organic farming grant of 16 Kekos.

The interface allows you to do several chores simultaneously: sowing, selling, spraying insecticide, etc.
